Sponsored legislation that would have provided full medical coverage for the prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders.

Wrote the law that makes it a crime to leave children unattended or unsupervised in a motor vehicle.

Voted to require businesses with more than 25 workers to earn up to 7 sick days per year for full-time employees and pro-rated number of sick days for part-time employees based on the hours they work.

Dedicate research dollars to develop new technology to create cleaner-burning coal, expanding West Virginia’s coal industry and creating new jobs to stimulate our state’s economy.

Establish an economic stimulus task force to make recommendations of incentive programs, tax cuts and economic development grants to help jump start West Virginia’s economy if the nation goes into economic recession.

Create coal conversation plants in West Virginia to transform coal into an alternative energy source for gasoline and diesel fuel.

Work to establish a foreclosure hotline where borrowers can reach counselors to help with loan modifications.

Work to pass laws to protect citizens from subprime loans and deceptive lending practices.

Work to pass law to create oversight of mortgage bankers and brokers and require more complete notification to homeowners.
